thebrandlanguage (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates thebrandlanguage.com and create.thebrandlanguage.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it.

By using our service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.

The short version: We collect your website URL and your answers to three questions to generate your brand language document. We do not sell your data. We do not use your brand inputs to train AI models. Your generated document is stored temporarily and deleted after your active period expires unless you extend it.

1. What we collect

When you use thebrandlanguage, we collect:

  • Your website or store URL — used to analyse your brand signals and generate your document
  • Your answers to intake questions — your target audience, core product, and brand preferences
  • Your email address — only if you choose to provide it (for Entity Readiness Report or document extension)
  • Usage data — page views, time on site, and interactions via Google Analytics (GA4). This data is anonymised and aggregated.
  • Payment information — if you extend your document, payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not store your card details. Razorpay’s privacy policy applies to payment processing.

We do not require account creation or registration to use the core product. We do not collect your name unless you provide it voluntarily.

2. How we use your information

  • To generate your brand language document using AI
  • To store your document at a unique shareable URL for the duration of your active period
  • To send you document reminders or expiry notices if you have provided your email
  • To improve the quality of generated outputs (using anonymised, aggregated data only)
  • To process payments for document extensions
  • To measure and improve our website using anonymised analytics

3. AI processing and your brand data

Your website URL and intake answers are sent to Claude (Anthropic) via our API to generate your brand language document. This processing is subject to Anthropic’s usage policies.

We do not use your brand inputs, your intake answers, or your generated document to train AI models — ours or anyone else’s.

Your generated document is stored in Cloudflare KV (key-value storage) at a unique URL. It is accessible only to people who have the link. It is not publicly indexed or searchable.

4. Data retention

  • Free documents — active for 7 days, then permanently deleted
  • Extended documents (₹999) — active for 12 months from extension date, then permanently deleted unless extended again
  • Gallery-approved documents — stored for as long as they remain in the gallery. You may request removal at any time.
  • Email addresses — retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion
  • Analytics data — retained per Google Analytics’ standard data retention settings (14 months)

5. Sharing your information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with the following service providers, strictly for the purpose of operating our service:

  • Anthropic — AI generation (Claude API)
  • Cloudflare — hosting, CDN, and document storage
  • Razorpay — payment processing
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Google Analytics — anonymised usage analytics
  • Interakt — WhatsApp business messaging (if you opt in)

We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.

6. Cookies

We use cookies for:

  • Analytics — Google Analytics uses cookies to track anonymised usage data
  • Session storage — to remember your document during your current session

We do not use advertising cookies or track you across other websites. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect some functionality.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request deletion of your personal data
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

8. Children’s privacy

Our service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of material changes. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last revised. Continued use of our service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
